The song recounts the fictional tale of a snowman that is magically brought to life through a black top hat that a group of children place atop his head. Although Frosty enjoys playing all through town with the children who constructed him, the sun becomes too much for him to bear and Frosty is forced to leave town, promising his friends that he one day will return.

Frosty The Snowman
Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul,
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal.
Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale, they say,
He was made of snow but the children
Know how he came to life one day.
There must have been some magic in that
Old silk hat they found.
For when they placed it on his head
He began to dance around.
O, Frosty the snowman
Was alive as he could be,
And the children say he could laugh
And play just the same as you and me.

Frosty the snowman knew
The sun was hot that day,
So he said, “Let’s run and
We’ll have some fun
Now before I melt away.”
Down to the village,
With a broomstick in his hand,
Running here and there all
Around the square saying,
Catch me if you can.
He led them down the streets of town
Right to the traffic cop.
And he only paused a moment when
He heard him holler “Stop!”
For Frosty the snow man
Had to hurry on his way,
But he waved goodbye saying,
“Don’t you cry,
I’ll be back again some day.”

Advent means coming.  It is a season of preparation before Christmas.  The season of Advent begins on the fourth Sunday prior to Christmas Day, or the Sunday which falls closest to November 30, and lasts through Christmas Eve, or December 24.

What is Advent?

Advent is a period of preparation in which many Christians make themselves ready for the coming, or birth of Jesus.

Screen Shot 2012-12-01 at 11.49.51 AMAn Advent calendar is a special calendar used to count or celebrate the days before Christmas. The days often overlap with the Christian season of Advent. Despite the name, most Advent calendars begin on December 1, regardless of when Advent begins, which can be as early as November 27 and as late as December 3. In an Advent calendar there is one “thing” for each day of December leading up to Christmas Day. One is opened every day leading up to Christmas. The calendar has something different every day to read, look at, …  It is supposed to be fun!  Enjoy and learn about Christmas and December and …  If you like it , let me know.
